If you need some distractions from Level 6 of Jumanji, DTLA virtual events have got you covered all June long. From LA Pride to live music, painting and museums – Here’s a list of June’s 10 Great Virtual Events from DTLA.
Celebrate LA Pride all Month Long!
To commemorate its 50th anniversary, LA Pride is going virtual this June! Amid the health crisis, this year’s celebrations will be reimagined and revamped to keep the spirit and honor of Pride alive through digital events, interviews, performances and appearances, including participation in this year’s virtual Global Pride. LA’s Pride Parade will air as a 90-minute primetime special exclusively on ABC7, Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. PDT, with an encore presentation on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
And the digital festivities don’t end there! Local LA radio stations will be celebrating Pride all month by featuring daily vignettes voiced by and centered around the LGBTQ+ community and movement, as well as holding Virtual Pride Parties every Friday in June, streamed on Youtube and the iHeartMedia app. Additionally, iHeartRadio LA and CSW have teamed up to launch “LA Pridecast”, a monthly podcast dedicated to having meaningful and informative conversations that explore the beautiful, complex realities relevant to the LGBTQ+ community and the community’s allies. The first episode will air in June, hosted by 104.3 MYFM’s Lisa Foxx.
There are so many Pride festivities this month that you won’t have to leave your couch for a week. Be sure to follow @lapride and show your support from home with #iHeartLAPRIDE!
