Mothers Day in Downtown Los Angeles will never be the same once you follow Downtown Weekly’s guide to pleasing mom this Mother’s Day weekend. Here’s a list of 10 Great Places for Pleasing Mom this Mother’s Day.
Moms expect Brunch!
Pleasing mom with brunch will most definitely become the easiest Mother’s Day task while in downtown.
Almost every restaurant comes with a star chef, delectable dishes and signature cocktails.
This Mother’s Day take your mom to Faith and Flower. Located at the base of the Watermark Tower on 9th and Flower Streets, F&F is a vintage inspired American restaurant serving California cuisine created by master chef Michael Hung. We suggest mom order the Prime Beef Picadillo; sunny side up eggs, squash, stir fried with delusions garlic fried rice. Share your smoked salmon eggs Benedict with mom, let her wash it down with any of F&F signature cocktails. Including the most interesting cocktail in downtown, F&Fs English Milk Punch, aged Spanish Rum, white Run Curacoa, brandy, Batavia Arrack, Absinthe, Green Tea, cinnamon, clove and coriander and clarified Milk.
AfroBuffet at District 7
If your mom is never satisfied, we have just the brunch to please her. District 7 on the corner is 7th and Grand will host Afro Buffet on Sunday May 12th. Take note of the smile on moms face as she dines for a purpose. Teamed up with AfroFuzion all proceeds are headed toward Aya Of Africa, a non profit that gives back to less privileged children in Ghana. Have mom dancing like a foodie after a day of Endless mimosas, soul food and world music presented by resident djs from 2pm – 9pm.@district7dtla
Art Can Please Mom
Brannan Mason Gallery will present Altum Micah Crandall-Bear and his acrylic paintings of soft delineations of sky earth and sea.
Fundamentally abstract, the paintings layer gauzy sections of muted color. Crandall-Bear’s wet on wet technique leaves no brushstrokes and has a pleasing effect on the observer budding and blending while sending mom to the realm of unlimited creative bliss. 10 percent of the proceeds will benefit Save the Waves work with coastal ecosystems. www.brannonmasongallery.com
