Breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and an after-work boost, all for $10.
Wait a minute. In Los Angeles? In 2017? Fix Cafe will change everything you thought you knew about food and what you should pay for it. With two convenient locations, one at the base of the historic United Building on 7th and Broadway, the other at the base of the historic Jewelry Theater Center is home to Fix Cafes’s second location and a third location is coming soon.
Letâs start with the above $10 a day menu to demonstrate this novel concept.
For breakfast, a regular drip coffee for one dollar plus a bagel and cream cheese for $1.50. A fresh turkey sandwich, a bag of chips and a canned soda at lunch that totals $4.50.  A one dollar power or a granola bar for the 3:00 pm pick-me-up.  And finally for the commute home, a Creamy Caramel Latte Macchiato for two dollars.  Grand total ten bucks. You could certainly spend less if you had to, but if youâre in the mood to splurge a couple extra bills, then by all means treat yourself to a premium fresh salad, yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, a slice of cheesecake or chocolate chip brownie, a bear claw or Danish, an Ă©clair, a frozen blended Coffechino, Mocha Cappuccino or an organic lemonade infused with refreshing mint. There are seasonal fruit cups and carnival colored macaroons. No item is over $2.50 and many are only one dollar. With prices like that, you can eat out every day or treat co-workers or the entire office to lunch with barely a dent in your wallet.
Just because the prices are fixed, it doesnât mean the menu remains static.
Youâll see seasonal flavors of chocolate, blueberry, cinnamon, and vanilla so your taste buds can experience the changes of season, too. Pair either of these with their best-selling, secret recipe frappes, like the Mochaccino (mocha flavor), Coffechino (coffee flavor) or Passion Fruit Frappe and you have a farm fresh gourmet breakfast that cost about the same as two rides on the Metro.
Less than six months old, Fix CafĂ© has already earned a profusion of five-star Yelp reviews praising the quality of the food, the clean, modern and colorful space, as well as praise for the quick service and gratitude for the unbeatable prices. Founded by Gary Aizin, a coffee-loving busy businessman who was sick and tired of the high price of a simple cup of coffee and a pastry, the unique grab’n’go concept is a lifesaver not only for the budget conscious, but for those who don’t have time to cook at home. If youâre suspicious about what youâre getting for so little, rest assured, all food is fresh and of premium quality, including the highest grade coffee beans which includes organically grown espresso used for a latte, cappuccino and all other espresso drinks.
How do they do it?
Well, it seems to be a trade secret for now, but Fix CafÄ exists to revolutionize the DTLA food culture and make the $4 cup of coffee a distant memory. The powers behind Fix CafÄ want the working people of Los Angeles to get something for their hard earned money besides a thankless commute and an overpriced lunch. You, the diligent workers, students and corporate execs of DTLA, have worked long and hard and now you can receive your just reward. The food revolution is long overdue and you are encouraged to celebrate each and every day.
With the support of the DTLA public, which is already well underway, Fix CafĂ© is destined to become a âfixtureâ of DTLA and change its food and business landscape forever.
