PEOPLE

Brennan Lindner

Equally comfortable in sports, advertising and marketing industries, Brennan is a co-founder and president of Generic Events. After an award-winning career in commercial and residential architecture with Shubin + Donaldson Architects and online advertising with Deutsch Inc., he embarked on a new career of producing athletic events that challenge and entertain athletes.

Brennan creates unique events with integrated marketing plans that capture his passion for athletics, advertising, entertainment and special events. His creativity and originality have led to an award-winning portfolio of events that span the globe and have entertained (and challenged) thousands of athletes.

Michelle Lindner

Michelle co-founded Generic Events along with Brennan and is the Director of Marketing and Corporate Sponsorships and the founder, co-producer of ROGA, Running and Yoga at the Santa Monica Pier. Before venturing into entrepreneurial territory, Michelle was the marketing Director for HQ Entertainment, a Gift Program Management Company that launched the first national mall gift card program for Westfield Shoppingtowns. Her professional career has always revolved around marketing and management.

Michelle focuses on brand awareness and unique marketing strategies for each event. Her commitment to detail and business insight has assisted in the growth and success of Generic Events. Michelle also connects interested sponsors to various events from contract negotiation to event day execution. She has worked with various companies such as Ed Hardy Sport, Nesquik, Lexus, Saucony, Clif Bar, Skechers, Whole Foods, and TYR.

Ryan Greene

With a smiling face and a call to “feets”, Ryan Greene has been growing the West Side’s running community for almost a full decade. Now, with Generic Events, his GrassRoots Marketing and Social Media efforts seem to flow very nicely with his continuous support of active lifestyles for everyone, creating an amazing vibe in the offices here in Santa Monica.

Years ago when he first started training for the 2004 Honolulu Marathon with the National Aids Marathon Training Program, nobody would have guessed that ultimately he would run at least 5 more events with that team, raising over $30,000 for people living with HIV/AIDS. Nobody could have assumed that his marathon count would grow to 14 within the first 10 years of his new addiction, which included 3 Ultra distances to boot!

And not one single person could have predicted that he would give birth to, and nurture Santa Monica’s HOTTEST running club at his old running store, voted #1 by Competitor Magazine! Okay okay.. someone might have guessed that one 😉

Actively pursuing a strong acting career, Ryan remains vigilant in helping people get outside and moving. If you can’t find him with a microphone in his hands at one of our XTERRA races (he lost his two turntables), or out promoting the amazing Santa Monica 5000, he might just be out on the trails with the So Cal Coyotes – a trail running group he helped to start with his friend Jimmy Dean Freeman.

Otherwise, he might just be sitting in our offices looking for new and exciting ways to bring the most people possible out to learn that what happens at a finish line is more a Start than anything else!
