Now, let’s get ready to enjoy a one of a kind Winter Wonderland in Pershing Square!
In the heart of downtown Los Angeles, with the city’s twinkling lights as a backdrop, The Bai Holiday Ice Rink returns to Los Angeles to bring holiday cheer and an ice-skating experience unlike any other.
This is one of the largest outdoor ice-skating rinks in the Los Angeles area, and you cannot go wrong with the allure of downtown Los Angeles to back it up. Skaters can experience a winter wonderland as they lace up their ice skates and enjoy the magical Los Angeles winter.
Bai Holiday Ice Rink comes back for its 22nd year in Los Angeles and it will be available for entry from November 14, 2019, to January 20, 2020.
Despite Los Angeles’ yearly long warm weather, the Bai Holiday Ice Rink in Pershing Square brings everything an Angeleno needs to feel like they are in a winter wonderland. The ice rink is 7,200 square feet and it is the city’s largest outdoor rink. Bai Holiday Ice Rink also offers visitors professional-quality ice for skating and entertainment. Every year, the ice rink welcomes more than 54,000 skaters and 450,000 spectators.
This year, the ice rink features a live performance of the Oscar-winning hit “Let it Go” from the cast of the North American tour of Disney’s Frozen the Broadway Music for its opening night. The opening night will feature an impressive skate performance choreographed to the song and will also feature special guests and more. The traditional “icebreaking” ceremony will also take place when the large ice sculpture is shattered, and this will be followed by the first skaters who will be kids from south Los Angeles. Every night will be a beautiful night to remember.
Tradition this year will be weekly “Frozen”-inspired nights and they will be called, “Let it Go” Tuesdays. Every Tuesday the rink will be predominantly blue and every third song played will be from the “Frozen” Original Broadway cast recording during the 7pm, 8:30pm, and 10pm sessions.
To top off the themed ice rink at Pershing Square, the producers of the Lion King and Aladdin, Frozen, the Tony-nominated Best Musical will celebrate its North American tour opening at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, December 4, 2019, through February 2, 2020.
This year we can expect many exciting moments at Pershing Square, including DJ Spotlight every Thursday with DJ Howly; Learn to Curl on Saturday, November 16, December 14, and January 11. Lastly, there will be a Silent Skate Party on December 19, 2019.
There will also be free Winter Music concerts in the park on Wednesdays and Fridays in December (excluding Christmas week), and a Winter Holiday Festival on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8.
Evidently, it will be a memorable winter in the heart of Los Angeles. Located at 532 South Olive Street, the landmark destination is easily accessible by car, bus, or Metro (Pershing Square stop). The general admission for Bai Holiday Ice Rink is $9 and the skate rental is $5. If you’d like to add a locker rental you can pay $3 and if you’d like skate support it is $6. If you’d like to come in a group and receive a special rate, Monday through Thursday that option is available. Accessibility to the ice rink has never been easier.
