As with many others, Covid-19 lockdowns have led us away from the hustle and bustle of business forcing us to better focus our dedication to family and reestablishing personal relationships. For Deisy, this time away from running the spa has allowed her to expand her vision, get more in tune with motherhood and amazingly release a new book, all the while in quarantine.
Marriage Material – The Book
Deisy was supposed to attend an upscale Beverly Hills wedding earlier this year, but the ill-fated couple had to cancel their wedding-of-a-lifetime due to COVID-19, only to resort to an extravagant private ceremony.
When Deisy saw people canceling their weddings, but still finding ways to tie the knot, she felt compelled to share her own love story. Her book, entitled Marriage Material is filled with pages of enlightenment, encouragement and hope to inspire others with the stories of her romance.
The book tells the tale of how Deisy met her husband Keith, who was a client of Deisy’s for many years and how the two miraculously accomplished a successful marriage in less than 24-hours after Keith’s proposal.
Being known as “Deisy 101 relationship advice”, Deisy’s friends would always come to her for dating and love advice, as she always “kept it real with them”.
In her case, Deisy knew it was best, to “keep it real” with Keith.
Unknowingly working massage on her soon to be husband, Deisy who was still in search of a life partner, as fate would have it one day, had a tarot card reading. The fortune-teller told her the person she would marry was already in her life.
As Daisy’s care of Keith developed into love, years later the two would find themselves entangled in the chaos of creating something special for Downtown LA in the form of an underground luxury day spa.
Desuar Spa, is located in what was once a completely abandoned historic basement, and had its “secrets”, as Deisy called them. Secrets that cost unforeseen time, money and efforts over four years.
In the end, Deisy and Keith overcame any obstacles and found innovative ways to make their vision a reality; all the while defying trade professionals who scoffed at their spa plans as being impractical and too expensive to build.
And it’s a good thing. Desuar Spa is truly a unique experience because of its underground shrine ambiance, hidden rooms, brass baths, and lounge areas, all grand in size and stature.

Today, as one of LA’s top aestheticians, Deisy Suarez is an industry mover and shaker. Her love for nurturing the soul runs strongly through each page of her book, as she shares her whirlwind romance combined with practical dating advice to truly transform her reader’s trajectories as they step into their power and become the epitome of “Marriage Material”.
The rush, the whirlwind, the excitement of their path to love, came rushing back the moment Deisy decided to write her book and now she plans to write a second book on the topic of entrepreneurship, sharing her wealth of wisdom and knowledge with aspiring entrepreneurs across the country.
On June 29th, Desuar Spa will be reopening. Rest assured Desuar Spa is taking every precaution as they anxiously await the revival of the City, the return of the residents and the tourist industry with a chance to soak the town in wine baths as the Romans once did.
