Welcome To Downtown Alicia Keys. May we suggest some pasta options for you and your special guests?

le grand

DTLA hopes you enjoy Le Grand Restaurant’s California-inspired menu and all night Happy Hour.

Once again the Southwest corner of 7th and Grand has reinvented itself, except this time instead of a whole new venue, DTLA will get a whole new menu thanks to Le Grand Restaurant’s new chef Edgar Delarosa.

Fall all in in love with Le Grand’s MANILA CLAMS BUCATINI in white wine and garlic for $23.

Brothers, George and Tamaz Gomiashvili are presenting a select list of old and new world wines, supreme cuts of meat, fresh seafood, locally sourced seasonal produce, and the finest of grains, nuts, herbs and spices. @legrandrestaurant

All good girls go to Brera!

Billy Eilish, born and raised in Highland Park, is breaking records across the globe with her sinister sound, and latch-key child attitude.

Nominated for six Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. Eilish, born in 2001, is like a virtual peephole for teenage fans everywhere, exposing a part of our world that may be even darker and twisted than what we ever imagined. It’s only natural we recommend some dark and twisted pasta for her Ostrogoth keepsake box.

Chef Angelo Auriana’s TAGLIATELLE SEAFOOD PASTA is prepared with dark winding pasta made with cocoa. As dark as they are tender, here’s a tantalizing seafood mix of lobster, langostinos, mussels and tomato laying comfortably atop. Only Billie is vegan so she may opt out and choose an anti pasta instead which won’t come with the same $38 price tag but surely fall in line with her hell bent, guilt free attitude. @Breraristorante

How many pastas you got?

J Cole is up for best rap song and best rap performance this year for Middle Child. DTLA Weekly recommends he stop by Maccheroni Republic.

Jean-Louis De Mori and Antonio Tomassi’s family-run Italian Trattoria with outside courtyard and excellent service is hidden behind a portable forest directly across the street from Grand Central Market in the Courts District.

So… How many pastas does Maccheroni Republic have?

A LOT! Over 15 varieties and matching dishes; All Maccheroni Republic’s organic pastas and semolinas are made in-house, making sure only the realest flavors prevail. We recommend J. Cole order the RAVIOLI DI ZUCCA for the reasonable price of 16.95. It’s pumpkin ravioli with butter cream truffle cheese sauce and it’s a Downtown favorite.

If J Cole’s pen runs out of ink while writing all those long-winded versus, we suggest he order the CUFFIE AL NERO DI SEPIA with saffron fish ragou and plenty of Squid ink pasta to help him finish his works, also $16.95.

For more information call: 1-888-88-PASTA – Let us know if J Cole picks up.

INSTASTORY

Truth doesn’t hurt, it’s delicious.

There are so many reasons to send Lizzo to the Stanton this Grammy Weekend. As she is up for best new artist, the Stanton may very well be accepting a community award for best new restaurant in South Park. With their delicious new menu, hospitality and signature dishes, the Stanton’s dishes are as bold and brazen in presentation as they are in flavor.

stanton dtla

Lizzo loves sports! The Stanton is showered with flat screens that channel the Lakers, Dodgers and the Kings to come enjoy a scrumptious meal with you.

Lizzo is big! Well, so is the LOBSTER LINGUINE at the Stanton. It’s made with fresh handmade linguine drenched in white wine and herbs, and weighs in extra heavy in the lobster department – but still with a light price of $31.

With so much lobster in one place, the dish reminds us of Lizzo in stilettos – except the truth doesn’t hurt, in this case it’s delicious. @the_stantondtla

No, No Lana

Let’s just say if Lana Del Rey actually was a fifty-foot woman roaming around the Historic Core looking for water to drink off of one of our rooftops…

We’d have to tell her, “No, No Lana! Before you try anything, take our recommendation for top pasta dishes in the Historic Core instead.”

We know Lana Del Rey will love the nostalgic feeling while dining at Le Petit Paris, located in the historic El Dorado Building

We recommend Lana order Petit’s signature COGNAC FLAMBÉED TRUFFLE PASTA; cooked right in front of you on a melting wheel of Parmesan Cheese for $68.

At Le Petit Paris, Lana will feel as tall as the Eiffel Tower, and worshiped as the giant hipster-goddess Downtown has known and loved for almost a decade. @lepetitparis_la

A Pasta is Born

Although Barbra Streisand may have found the perfect title for her Grammy Nominated Album, Walls – has the Legendary songstress been able to find the perfect pasta dish in downtown Los Angeles?

If not, we’d like to recommend Amante Italian Restaurant in the Fashion District.

Amante, like Streisand, may not be the hottest new venue, or perceived as the prettiest, but, like fine wine both have aged quiet gracefully and like any true talent or Italian pasta dish, it’s the substance that matters.

As a long standing neighborhood favorite, the Amante seems as if it has always been with us, to feed us along our journey here in Downtown.

Like Streisand’s successful endeavors, each dish is an award winning masterpiece. Well, maybe not as many awards as Streisand but each dish does expose a solid foundation and refined expertise that only the truly gifted can provide.

We recommend Streisand try the baked PENNONCINI RIGATI AL FORNO in white sauce with veggies. Its a hearty dish served with fresh baked bread for $19, worthy of exploration, and able to hit a high note when it comes to pasta dishes. @amanterestaurant

Pasta Lovers and Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift should bring her Lover to Terroni. It’s basically where we bring all of our lovers – lovers of Italian pasta that is to say. With glass exposing its finely decorated levels of doll house views featuring fine furnishings bordering from modern to antique, hanging chandeliers, candle lit tables, hanging meats, and wines on display, Terroni doesn’t fall short in the romance department. We suggest her and her lover order Terroni’s Capunti al Ragu d’Agnello capunti pasta with slow cooked lamb ragu’ and parmigiano shavings prices at $24.

Taylor Swift’s lover should take her to Terroni.

Taylor Swift’s lover should take her to Terroni.

It’s basically where DTLA brings all of our lovers – lovers of Italian pasta dishes, that is to say.

With glass exposing its finely decorated doll house view, peer inside to discover Terroni’s imported furnishings bordering from modern to antique, hanging chandeliers, candle lit tables, hanging meats, and wines on full display.

Terroni doesn’t fall short in the romance department. We suggest her and her lover order Terroni’s CAPUNTI AL RAGU D’AGNELLO – capunti pasta with slow cooked lamb ragu’ and parmigiano shavings priced at $24.

Love survives the test of time, just as the masterful dishes at Terroni. The highest paid celebrity on the planet can share the experience at Terroni via her social media and gain a bunch of new DTLA followers. @terronila

Bring it On! Ariana Grande

No need for Ariana Grande to perform during the Grammys on an empty stomach.

Strolling through the USC campus in a draw string bikini top and feathered boa, she’ll make plenty of fans who can join her at Pasta Roma Ristoranti Italiano on Figueroa.

pastaroma

Not into USC fans? Okay, Ariana
bring it on! Your cheerleader’s squad against the USC Trojan’s.

DTLA is cheering for Pasta Roma. This place keeps a steady line for pasta dishes Grande is sure to love. And like Ariana, the line is usually pretty grande.

In line for pasta, she’s sure to get another lesson in patience before finally sitting down to enjoy the highly recommended FARFALLE CON PANCETTA – bow tie pasta with bacon and sun-dried tomatoes in a light cream sauce for $9.95.

Right before taking her seat she’ll probably even hear the cashier shout out, “Thank You, Next!” @pastaromafig

Old Town Road Meets Uphill Road

Welllllll, if Lil Naz X can get his horse to walk uphill on Grand to Bunker Hill, he’ll find Vespaio, one of DTLAs finest pasta ranches.

With just over 20 pasta plates to choose from, all saddled around $22, Chef Agostino Sciandri wrangles fresh handmade pasta daily topped with everything from whole prawns to wild boar.

vespaio

Knowing most cowboys are likely to be steak lovers, we recommend Lil Nas X order the TAGLIATELLE VERDI, OLD FASHIONED BEEF with PORCINI RAGU.

He’ll also be able to enjoy a Panini or two with his choice of breads and a side of potato chips. @vespaiodtla

Cheaters Got Cheat Vampire Hall

Cheaters gon’ cheat, and pasta is the best way to show that over possessive diet you won’t be tied down. Vampire Hall members can sneak away from all of this life’s unruly demands to the serene outskirts of Downtown where faithful husband and wife team, Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis will tempt them with a variety of enticing pasta dishes at Bestia.

Brera

Keeping their options open, we recommend the group order the CAVATELLI ALLA NORCINA – a mix of ricotta dumplings, house-made pork sausage, black truffles, and grana padano and the SEA URCHIN SPAGHETTI covered in trout roe, cultured butter, chives and lime, both for $32. @bestiadtla
