3. ARTS DISTRICT PARK

Thanks Parks & Recs! This half-acre park on Hewitt St. is sooooo chill. Seemingly hidden within the Arts District, its location across from Urth Caffe furthers the district’s purposeful blend of industrial warehouse meets calm, quiet, organic solace. Bring the kids, and the dogs, there’s a children’s playground and plenty of grass, trees and man-made shade.  https://www.laparks.org/arts-district-park

2. CHINATOWN PLAZA

You may never know it thanks to all the hoopla that is Chinatown Summer Nights, but when the crowds die down and the dj’s pack up, all that’s left is the cool breeze that blows steadily through the pillars of East Gate’s bright neon lights. Soak up the culture, make a wish at Star Cavern Wishing Well and chill. There are plenty of benches for feeding the night pigeons or taking up conversations with the elders.  http://www.oldchinatownla.com/

1. GRAND PARK

Located between The Music Center and City Hall, Grand Park is a lovely mash-up of people just chilling. Grand Park offers plenty of events that offer loud music and a chance to crowd gaze, but its activities like yoga, Lunch A LA Park and the fact it’s the largest bed of grass in DTLA make it a perfect spot for chillin’ like a villain. Grand Park also features the restored historic Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain with a new wade-able membrane pool that keeps kids splashing far away, as not to disturb the calming nature of DTLA’s ultimate chill spot. https://grandparkla.org/
