Jewish leaders from around the world are in downtown Los Angeles beginning Sunday, November 12th, as the Jewish Federations of America’s 2017 General Assembly kicks off its three-day conference. Beginning today at 2:30 pm, the event will feature multiple offerings including a discussion on how the Trump administration’s policies will affect the Jewish Federations’ work moderated by Danielle Berrin, senior writer, and columnist for the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles…

The Jewish Federations of North America raise and distribute billions annually for social welfare, social services, and educational needs at home, in Israel and around the globe.

This assembly is held at the JW Marriott at LA Live and promises to highlight youth engagement, anti-Semitism, religious diversity in Israel, and the future of the Jewish people. Featured speakers include Stacey Snider, CEO of 20th Century Fox, Nancy Kaufman, CEO of the National Council of Jewish Women, and everybody’s favorite, Rabbi David Wolpe.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, making his first major appearance before a Jewish audience outside Israel is expected to speak at about 5 p.m. Monday and Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is scheduled to be interviewed live via satellite on Tuesday, at around noon.

The General Assembly is a leadership retreat for communal volunteer leaders and professionals engaged in Jewish philanthropy, and they’ve picked just the right place for their gathering, the JW Marriott centered in Downtown’s most exciting entertainment epicenter in Los Angeles, LA LIVE.
