#ARTWALKGONEVIRAL – Virtual Art Steps in Between Covid 19 and the Downtown ArtWalk

artwalkgoneviral

Downtown Weekly In conjunction with Art Walk News Introduced #ArtWalkGoneViral, last April. The virtual art walk event was followed by rave reviews and unexpected high levels of engagement from the artist’s communities of DTLA and beyond.

Stepping in between Covid 19 Quarentine and the Downtown Art Walk, this ultimate virtual plug for all creatives invites artists and galleries to tag/submit their artwork pages on @dtlaweekly instagram page.

Tagged artists may be featured on DTLAWeekly’s Instastory every 2nd Thursday of the month from 4pm to 10pm.

Submissions for  #ARTWALKGONEVIRAL begin on the 2nd Monday of every month, in time for sharing during Downtown Artwalk’s pre-Covid hours, held on the 2nd Thursday of every month since the early 2000s.

The #ArtWalkGoneViral flier is an assembly of personal paint brushes used by famed commercial artist Justin Bua, as photographed by Stephen Lam at his home studio in Echo Park, CA.

The community is also encouraged to hashtag #artwalkgoneviral whenever posting their works to help spread the word and share their amazing talents as Downtown Artwalk and worldwide art-walks once did.
The virtual event is open to all visual artists, musicians, food stands and indie artisans in true art walk fashion.

The initiative is designed to spread positivity and solidarity through art, highlight the local talent DTLA and beyond, connect all of us during this strange time and of course to encourage everyone to BUY ART!
